AJ, Authentic Johor Food, Uptown Damansara Utama.
Just after the festive season my husband and I are craving for an authentic Johor food especially mee rebus. We saw a restaurant that served Johor food nearby uptown that was called AJ that serve Johor delicacies, we decided to try and see whether it's the real deal or not. My husband ordered mee rebus and I ordered mee bandung. When the food arrived on our table we were skeptical about just by the smell and the look of the food it does not seem the real deal, and when we started sipping the gravy my husband said "this dont taste like mee rebus" and when we saw mee bandung even before we tried it we though this is as just as the one at those tom yam stall sell like a mee soaked in a tomato gravy, well we were right. So much of being an authentic Johor food delicacies, who ever decide to go there please order something else or try the their Laksa instead of the mee Ive just mentioned. Let me know what you thing about the Laksa Johor because y husband and I decided not to go to that horrid place anymore.

Chakoi @ Cameron Highland
Yes its chakoi, I found it in Camreon higland well its not the best but its one of the best food to get meanwhile ur in tanah rata at around 3-4 pm there. Its really cheap its only sold at 60cent a piece, and it was a malay pakcik who made the dough and fried it. It is situated at the food court tanah rata, u better go there early because it sells fast and of course cold weather you will need to consume hot friend stuff. This is the best.

Gold Chilli @ Subang Sek15
The shop has been there as long as i could remember, they have the best fusion Malaysian food in Subang Jaya. It is situated next to mamak Darussalam a corner shop. The variety of food of mee, meehoon, koew tiow and rice will blow your mind. You could choose from a small serving to a large one to your liking of course the price increases with it. I have ordered the famous tom yum fried rice my favorite with power sambal belacan (chilli shrimp paste) and Loh Hon Kor (herbal drink to cool off your body since it was my lunch) Dont worry the food served there is halal, many makcik and pakcik sit there for lunch and dinner so dont worry about it. The famous food serve there is their butter milk chicken/beef/fish (dory) thats so far the best I've eaten there.

Cameron Highland's Steamboat and The Best Scones
My husband and I was at Cameron Highland few weeks ago. It was not a planned trip so we did not actually figure out where and what to eat, there its very hard to look for good food for Muslims especially the economic ones. Yes you can eat at the local eateries such as mamak, but of course its no fun. It was hard to find steamboat you could only look for Chinese non halal steamboat there, but we namage to find a halal food store which is situated in between the non halal shops near Brinchang it is called "Fairuz Steamboat" they also serve Thai food at an economic price range from RM4.00 to RM7.00 for a plate of friend rice. Package for 2 steamboat id RM40 with mix variety of steamboat dishes such as fish balls, chicken balls, flower crab, meat, variety of noodles and mix veges. The drinks that are served are also cheap as hot drinks are preferred there because of the cold weather.

Meatworks, Citta Mall
Yes people, I know its haven for meat lover but its not for me and my husband. We ordered sirloin steak and bbq ribs and this is what we would like to comment:
We ordered a well done steak but a medium rare steak was served, so I have to ask the manager to bring it back to the kitchen to cook it again. Yes, he brought back the steak that we asked for, and the sauce OMG its a cook's disaster its tasteless and the mash is too fine, who would pay for such food at an eatery like this, We pay about RM50++ for this piece of steak but at the end the food was a disappointment. Oh not to forget the bbq ribs,(sigh) another chef disaster, have they made food quality check before? the ribs bbq sauce was too sweet like they accidentally pour a cup of sugar in it. I was very mad because I am also paying more then other restaurant is. For a made in Malaysia restaurant it is very devastating to be compared to other international restaurant. That was my last visit to Meatwork, the food is terrible and too much of everything and less of a lot pf things. Need to improve on the recipe and of course better Chefs in the kitchen. Its too expensive for dine in and we paid RM150++ for horrible food. With that money I can eat better food at the restaurant across the Meatwork.
